“This is an important project with significant impact extending beyond the field of translation and interpreting studies. The focus on facilitating empathy and understanding of the needs of different communities, with the goal of developing students’ communicative awareness plus intra- and inter-lingual communication skills is commendable. The engagement with various institutions, including partner universities and the National Council for the Blind in Ireland and the interaction between students and the blind community epitomise the spirit of higher education: to nurture global citizens that can adapt, are empathetic, and are aware of the fundamental issues that (should) concern all people, particularly equality, diversity, and inclusion.”
